Summer is Now Red, White & Blue!

We have a Patriotic theme!

If you collect ribbon, this selection is a "must see!"

Everywhere you look, you'll see Red, White & Blue!

See the large silver case in the center of the store for a wonderful grouping of vintage Patriotic finds!

Amazing items from a by-gone era!  They are perfect for decorating for the 4th of July or for your personal collection!  Come see!

Check the summer theme of our front window!

Come see how much fun your can get into!  Life at the seashore!  Vintage finds at Birds of a Feather, now!

Also, a Natural History influence is felt through the store this summer!  Vintage and items of nature are all around.

And we couldn't celebrate summer without a selection of garden items!

Yes!  That wonderful, mouth-watering taste of summertime on the Central Coast is back!  This year, I have a huge variety of flavors...old favorites mixed in with new.  It's all delicious.  And it's all here!  So, stop by and pick up a bag of your favorite flavor before you head for a walk on Moonstone Beach!

The Summer Newsletter is Up!
If you'd like to keep up on what's happening at Birds of a Feather, you can get the latest info by clicking on the Newsletters link above.  That will take you to my Newsletters page where I've added the June 2009 Newsletter!  You'll find lots of fun things like What's New at the Birdhouse, information on what to do and how the Central Coast celebrates the 4th of July, the recipe for Marcia Smith's yummy Lemon-Cornmeal Cake, 21 Important Rules of Life, ways to have Cheap Fun, and I take the opportunity to "vent" a little about some of my greatest frustrations!  Also, check out the list of favorite Swap Meets or Flea Markets on the Bonus Page!

Remember that you can download the PDF file or print it out so you can have your personal copy to read and re-read as you relax with a cup of afternoon tea.  And if you have a friend who asks you where you got the copy of it, just tell them to go to the Birds of a Feather website.  I'll also have a few printed out and available in the store for the next time you come in.  If you have any questions or comments, just go to my Blog at www.morebirdsofafeather.blogspot.com and post what you'd like to say.  It's free!  And it's fun!

Thank You, Jenny!
I
f the new "header" at the top of this page looks familiar, then you've visited my Blog!  A big THANK YOU! to my friend Jenny Malott for designing the header for my new blog! She is the ever so talented creator of "Live Artfully" magazine and has graciously helped me jazz up my little blog with this new art.  I thought it was so good that I'd use it on my website as well.  Jenny's latest magazine (on sale at Birds of a Feather, by the way!) features wonderful recipes and happenings and people all from the Central Coast--only $5.75 per copy!  For more information on the magazine and to subscribe, visit her web site at www.liveartfullymagazine.com and tell her Birds of a Feather sent you!  I know you'll enjoy it!

How Does Your Garden Grow?
I
t's time to get the seed packets going.  These hand-made, one-of-a-kind Seed Packets. A Birds of a Feather exclusive.  They're not in yet, but I hope to have some available soon!

Each is individually hand-painted and take some time to do, so if you come in the store one day and see me with paints and brushes and little seed packets spread all over the counter, you'll know what I'm doing ~ getting more painted and ready for the 2009 season with new seeds of various types.  When they're ready, I'll let you know right here on our Birds of a Feather website and in my Blog. Then, you can pick a favorite and enjoy!  Now, where did I put my paints?
