What Fun We Had!
This was one of the best Anniversary Celebrations,
yet! LOTS of Birds of a Feather Friends flocked to our
little store Saturday and Sunday. The weather gods were
smiling on us and held off the rain for most of the day. I
had the opportunity to see some old friends and make some new
friends, too. It was a great time and I just want to
deeply thank all of you who attended or sent messages of
congratulations. To know that you enjoy what we offer at
Birds of a Feather creates such a warm and thankful feeling
within me. Thank you for your continued support. I
appreciate you all so much!
I have some
photos I took of the store before we opened the doors on
Saturday morning. As soon as I get a chance to get those
photos out of the camera, I'll have them put on our Special
Events page so you can see what the whole place looked like.
That should happen before the end of this week and I'll place a
note here to let you know.
In the
meantime, Easter is not that far off! There are many
wonderful vintage and artistic decorator pieces here that would
add that special touch of the Spring Season to your home or
special collection. Please plan to drop by soon!
And a reminder that Wednesday, March 17th
is St. Patrick's Day. Hope to see you soon!
Ribbon, Ribbon and More Ribbon!
Some
companies may be cutting back on new merchandise to offer for Spring
2010, but not the ribbon companies!! I am happy to report that new shipments
are arriving! Such
cute Easter designs, beautiful new fabrics and amazing
color collections! My favorite ~ lovely French ribbons ~ are
really special this time and I am like a kid at Christmas as these boxes
are arriving! Some are for wrapping, some for sewing, some for decorating and some
just to add to your stash! Prices
vary from 50-cents per yard to $5.95 per yard, so there's something
for everyone!

I'm
also trying something new. I am pre-packaging some 1-yard cuts of
ribbon to help speed up the process for my ribbon collectors who only
want a yard, but are in a hurry (people waiting in the car) or want to
give several as gifts. So instead of waiting for the measuring
process, this might help speed things up if you are in the "grab and go"
mode.

Ribbon Corner
page on this website.

bright colors of German glass glitter. And, you'll find them here

Green, Purple and Ruby Red, along with Gold, Copper, Orange and
Black make for a beautiful selection of glitter! The old favorites
like White, Silver, Pink, Dusty Blue, and Light Green are also
available for your crafting projects! And now and then, we get some
new and different colors. So, feed your "inner crafter" and come
take a look.

You
can fancy up a special card, sparkle your Princess Crown, add it to
your notes, or magic wand! Or, just hoard it in your special crafting
stash! We offer nice sized individual containers for $5.50
each. Also, ask about creating a specific gift package for a
creative friend.

Local Cambrian artist, Shirley
Pittman, was the artist who painted the wonderful watercolor of the
store that you see hanging in the back office.

We have made this wonderful piece into postcards
and offer them to
you on a complimentary basis. When you come into our store, simply
write a note to your friends or family and we will mail it for you
